My Approach

I’m an integrative therapist, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques to tailor our work to you as an individual, rather than expecting you to fit into one fixed way of working. I believe that every person’s experiences, challenges and goals are unique, so therapy should reflect that.

Together, we can explore not only what is happening in the present, but also consider the wider context of your experiences and the patterns that may have shaped the way you think, feel and respond. My aim is not to offer quick fixes or tell you what to do, but to work alongside you in a way that feels collaborative, thoughtful and grounded.

Whether you are looking for a short-term, focused intervention around a specific challenge, or longer-term work aimed at creating meaningful, lasting and sustainable change, I will meet you where you are. We will move at a pace that feels manageable for you, with space to reflect, build insight and support change in a way that feels authentic and achievable.

Methods

Over time, my experience of working with particular groups of clients (especially those processing trauma), has helped me to develop a preferred way of working.

My approach is often grounded in person-centred therapy, creating a safe, collaborative space where you will feel heard, understood and valued. Alongside this, I may incorporate psychoeducation where it feels helpful, offering insights into how our minds and bodies respond to difficult experiences.

I also draw heavily on Compassion Focused Therapy, with an emphasis on helping you recognise self-critical or unhelpful patterns of thinking; particularly those which relate to your own self concept. We will then work together on reframing these thoughts and feelings and looking at them through the lens of greater self-compassion.
